When you see the Red Cross, you see help. Do you want to mean something to someone else?
Red Cross first responders provide assistance in many ways; in the Corona crisis, at the reception of refugees and at many large and smaller events. As a care provider you encounter all kinds of things. A faint, a concussion, a hemorrhage, alcohol poisoning or a sprain. Do you take action when someone needs immediate help? Check out our YouTube channel for a video about event assistance at the Red Cross and register!
What are you going to do?
As a Red Cross aid worker you are trained for unexpected situations and you can keep your skills up to date at various events. Is anyone injured or unwell? You keep your head cool and take responsibility. During the Military of Boekelo, the Nijverdalsebergcross near Hellendoorn, at the Ice Rink in Enschede, the BAM! Festival in Hengelo, the Sinterklaas arrival, you and your team are ready where help is needed.
As an event counselor you get:
· Meaningful and responsible volunteer work, you make the difference;
· A range of relevant training courses to expand your first aid knowledge and prepare you for first aid, partly online;
· The free choice for which events or other services you register;
· Many new contacts and experiences, personal development or a better CV.
Who are you?
· You are 18 years or older;
· You have a valid first aid certificate or are willing to obtain one and you endorse our Basic Principles;
· You are stress-resistant and physically capable of first aid and resuscitation actions;
· You listen well and respond alertly to the needs of those seeking help;
· You are available for at least 52 hours per year for deployment during open shifts.

The Red Cross helps people in need. We do that around the corner – and far away. We do this from our hearts and with our sleeves rolled up. And we do this with many volunteers who work with passion. We work worldwide based on our seven basic principles: Humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntariness, unity and generality. The Red Cross's assistance is constantly developing.
